The Band played on! Despite thunderstorms, the
Friday night band , sponsored by Northmark Bank, played for several hours inside the fire
station for a handful of die-hard revelers. |

Saturday was as beautiful as Friday night was
miserable. At 9AM, the crowds begin to collect on Main Street |

On the Winchester Savings Bank sponsored trolley,
Ellen Knight of the Winchester Historical Society gives the "Houses of the
Stars" tour. |

Long lines were the norm for the ever-popular pony
rides on the Common, sponsored by Citizens Bank. |

For the 2nd year, the Winchester Cooperative Bank
sponsored the petting zoo on the Common. |

Kidstock Theatre created many activities on the
Common to keep yound minds occupied and active. |
 |
As midday approached, the crowds at the Kid's Fair
on the Common grew and grew. |
 |
The Chamber of Commerce Barbeque kept very busy
feeding the Kid's Fair attendees. |
 |
Young (and older) minds took the Chess Club's
challenge at a quieter corner. |
 |
Main Street at midday was "standing room

For the second year, the volunteers from the
Winchester DPW showed off some of the department's heavy equipment. |

Meanwhile, over on the Mill Pond Stage, young and
old alike were kept entertained by a variety of acts all through the afternoon. |

Corralling the rubber duckies for the Winchester
Youth Softball's annual race proved to be a challenge due to the changing winds. |
 |
Those lucky folks who bought their tickets early
for the Town Day Picnic were treated to a sumptuous feast of shrimp, swordfish, sirloin
and strawberry shortcake. |
 |
Over the course of an hour and a half, the tables
beside the Town Hall were filled as the Picnic participants ate their fill. |
 |
As evening fell, the WHS Octets--the first of
several concerts--filled the library lawn with music. |
 |
What better way to finish off a wonderful Town Day
than with the tradition of spectacular fireworks exploding over the center! |
